Roadhop — Privacy policy

Last updated 28 September 2026. Roadhop is an online racing game run at asterhavengame.com. This page says what it keeps about you and why.

Playing as a guest

You can play without an account. A guest's name, car design and settings are kept only on your own device (browser storage). While you drive, the server sees your car's position, your name and your car design, and shares them with the other players on the road — that is the game. When you leave, it forgets you, except any score good enough for the leaderboards, which keeps your name, the score and when it was set.

Crash replays and clubs

When one of your crashes is big enough for the day's Crash of the Day shortlist, the game saves a short replay of it: the positions of the cars around you, your driver name and your car's design. The shortlist and replays are shown publicly on the title screen; the day's winners are kept in a hall of fame, and the rest are deleted when the day ends. Racing clubs are public too: a club's name, tag, colour, members, card and the parts of the road it holds are shown to every player.

What we never do

We don't sell or share your data with anyone, and there are no third-party trackers or analytics in the game.

Server logs

The web server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting, and rotates them.

Diagnostics

To find and fix bugs, the game reports to our own server (never to anyone else): your screen size, device type and browser, whether you play in the app or a browser, how smoothly the game runs (frame rate), errors the game hits, connection drops, which screens you open, and game events such as crashes, runs and scores, with your driver name. A random ID on your device ties these reports together; it is not linked to you in any other way, and clearing the app's storage replaces it. The reports are kept on our server, are overwritten as they grow, and are not in our backups.

Fonts

The game's title lettering (Saira Condensed) is loaded from Google Fonts, so your device asks Google's servers for it, which shows them your IP address. Google Fonts does not set cookies.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and everything attached to it yourself, at any time: in the game, open ⚙ Settings → Delete my account and confirm with your password. It is removed at once (your driver name leaves the clubs and boards it was on). Guest data can be cleared by clearing the app's storage on your device.

Children

Roadhop is not directed at children under 13. Chat is word-filtered and rate-limited.
